With the release of the all-new John Wick movie, it’s no surprise that many are still comparing it to the original John Wick. One of the most common comparisons is between John Wick and Agent 47. For the record, the man in the suit isn’t actually Agent 47, but instead is named, appropriately, “John Wick.” But, while he’s no assassin, the man in the suit does serve a purpose, and that is to serve as Wick’s opponent in the film.
As a fan of both John Wick and Iain Glen, I stumbled across this thought experiment which compares the two characters. For the sake of the blog, I have decided to go with John Wick. If you have seen “John Wick”, you will know that Wick is a character with an extremely high level of skill, motivation, and intelligence. As the world’s best assassin, he is far superior to Agent 47. Unfortunately, because of this, he could never beat Agent 47 in a fight. Although he manages to kill Iain Glen’s character, this wouldn’t be enough to stop Wick, who always seems to find a way to win. As much as I enjoy the film, I could never imagine John Wick winning against Agent 47.

Continue reading our post to find out who would win in a battle between John Wick and Agent 47.
A battle between John Wick and Agent 47 would be a draw. In a head-on battle, John Wick would win, whereas Agent 47 would win in a covert fight, although their abilities are almost identical.
Our comparison will be broken down into three parts. The first will provide an overview of the two characters, followed by a comparison of their abilities, including their trademark weapons. Finally, we’ll give you a thorough study of the two characters so you can figure out who would win in a fight.
John Wick’s abilities
Jardani Jovononich was his birth name in the Soviet Union. He was an orphan who was abducted by Russia’s Roma, a criminal group headed by The Director. He grew up in New York, where he learned a variety of martial arts, weaponry, and languages. He quit the group when he grew older, changed his identity to John Wick, and started a career as a hitman.
He’s earned a reputation as a merciless assassin who will carry out any assignment. As a result, the Russian gangster who heads the Tarasov Mob, one of the most powerful criminal organizations in New York in this film, will make a lot of friends all over the globe, including Winston and Viggo Tarasov. John becomes a member of this organization and begins to work for it.
He also meets the lovely Helen at this time, with whom he falls in love and want to have a family. So he asks Viggo if he may quit his gang, and Viggo responds by giving him a “impossible” command that no one can carry out. John approaches Italian gangster Santino D’Antoine, who agrees to assist him, but only if he signs a violent contract with him, in which John promises to aid Santino with anything he desires.
Following the completion of this order, John is set free and goes on to work as a hitman, marry Helen, and begin living with her. Helen, on the other hand, succumbs to a fatal disease. Following this occurrence, John quits his business and begins living alone.
As Viggo once remarked, John is unyielding in his pursuit of his uncompromising, unwavering objectives. John Wick is shown as a self-assured individual who is aware of his talents and makes full use of them. He is unafraid of anything and eagerly accepts all of the difficulties that await him. He is held in great regard by everyone as a person who should not be messed with. The movie also proves his love for pets.
He is able to utilize a variety of martial arts and virtually all weapons as a result of his education. He does not, however, restrict himself to weapons; due to his intelligence, he can deal with any scenario, as shown by the famous tale about him, in which he once murdered three guys at a pub with an ordinary pencil, and then kills a taller, clearly stronger man with books in the third section.
Agent 47 and his abilities
Agent 47 is a hitman for the ICA, or “Agency,” a shadowy organization that employs assassins. Dr. Otto Ort-Meyer developed 47 as a genetically modified clone (with 47 chromosomes) designed to kill. He is one of a long series of clones that look just like him but are obedient to a fault.
47 does not have a true name, despite the fact that he employs numerous identities throughout his missions. Because of his barcode tattooed on the back of his neck (640509-040147), which contains his date of birth (September 5, 1964) and a serial number showing that he is the 47th clone produced by Ort-Meyer, he was given the number 47.
Agent 47 wears a badge that is a stylised representation of the fleur-de-lis, which is traditionally given at funerals. He is watermarked throughout the games, but literally appears in Hitman: Hitman on the Ort-Meyer Asylum gateway and in his lab, as well as on 47’s AMT Hardballer guns and laptop.
47 has been designed to be a killing machine despite his lack of unique abilities. He is gifted with a calculated intellect and is also more athletic than a regular human being, having enough physical resistance to absorb many balls without dying. 47 is skilled with a variety of weaponry, but his preferred weapon is the stealthy piano wire with which he strangles his prey.
When it comes to ranged combat, the Silverballer, a bespoke AMT Hardballer pistol, is his go-to weapon. 47 can take enemy uniforms to get closer to targets, but it’s not much of a talent. His ruthless effectiveness makes him the greatest assassin in the Agency he works for. His secrecy and expertise have made him an urban legend for carrying out his tasks, even the most challenging, with discretion.
Few individuals are aware of its appearance, and those who are aware of it have not lived long enough to reveal it. Diana is still the only one who has managed to capture 47.
Who would win in a fight between John Wick and Agent 47?
Now we get to the most essential and fascinating part of our article: the analysis. We’ll utilize what we’ve learned about these two characters to assess how all of these details would (or would not) aid them in a battle. Let’s keep going.
Both John Wick and Agent 47 are considered to be masters of their respective professions. John Wick is a man who can face down an army and has managed to live despite being the world’s most wanted man. Agent 47, on the other hand, is a super-assassin who has survived numerous video games only via his abilities. The conflict must be examined from two angles.
One, if it came down to a head-to-head battle, John Wick would undoubtedly win. Yes, they’re both great marksmen and hand-to-hand fighters, but John Wick comes out on top. Only a few people in the movies have been able to take on John Wick directly, and he has also managed to escape being assaulted by a gang. This is why he would defeat Hitman in this match.
Hitman, on the other hand, would easily beat Wick if he had the benefit of utilizing his stealth skills. Wick is a superb head-on fighter, but he won’t be able to accomplish much if he doesn’t know where his opponent is — and Agent 47 is a master at this.
This is why we’ve decided to call it a tie. Specifically, their abilities would obliterate each other, and since they each had distinct advantages in their chosen fighting methods, they would eventually exhaust each other until neither could stand, but there would be no obvious victor.
