Section: Chinese Global Vision No.7 Cherry Lane by Yonfan – Hong Kong | 2019 – 125 minutes
No.7 Cherry Lane is the story of Ziming, a Hong Kong University student who is torn between his romantic affections for a self-exiled Taiwanese mother, Mrs. Yu, and her lovely daughter Meiling during the White Terror era. He leads them to various movies, where forbidden desires are exposed via a succession of wonderful experiences on the big screen. The period also overlaps with the chaotic events in Hong Kong in 1967.

Kiwi Chow’s Revolution of Our Times – Hong Kong | 2021 – 152 minutes Nominated Films for the Golden Horse Award
The extradition measure introduced in Hong Kong in 2019 has transformed the city into a battleground against Chinese authoritarian authority. This documentary was created by Kiwi Chow as a historical record of the movement as well as personal testimonies from Hongkongers on the front lines. The film is about the struggle of Hongkongers, as well as freedom fighters across the globe, against dictatorships.

Ogigami Naoko’s Riverside Mukolitta – Japan | 2021 – 120 minutes Section: Windows on Asia
Takeshi arrives in the Hokuriku area, in a little hamlet. He starts working at a plant that creates salted fish paste there. Kozo, a neighbor in the same apartment building, pays Takeshi a visit and requests to bathe in his bathroom. Takeshi has remained friends with Kozo ever then, and Kozo subsequently discovers the story of why Takeshi came to the hamlet.

Kavich Neang’s White Building – Cambodia, France, Qatar | 2021 – 90 minutes | Windows on Asia
Samnang, 20, lives in the White Building, a Phnom Penh historic tenement that is set to be razed. Samnang sees his father try unsuccessfully to bring his divided neighbors together over the government’s compensation incentives for citizens who leave. He also had to deal with the departure of his closest buddy from Cambodia. Samnang discovers that the safe haven he has always called home is under jeopardy.
